How to Get Island Soul and All Mokoko Seeds from Hypnos Eyes in Lost Ark

Quick links

Hypnos’s Eyes is yet another island in lost ark dedicated to the wonderful and mischievous world of pirates, which was introduced with Captain Blackfang long ago in the initial questline of the main story in Luterra. Hypnos’s Eyes is home to a sect of pirates led by Blue-Eyed Calvasus, one of the “Kings of the Sea”, who is apparently very good friends with Captain Blackfang.

There are quite a few things to do on this island fortress, as apart from the main questline dedicated to it, there is an Island Soul to acquire, a Rapport NPC to gain trust, a total of five Mokoko Seeds to collect, and an Una task to keep you coming back to the daily.

Where are Hypnos’ eyes?

Hypnos’s Eyes is located in the southern Procyon Sea, a short distance north of Punika. He also happens to be sitting right in the middle of the level three Siren Seasso equip your ship accordingly when sailing there.

If you want to set a Bifrost point here for easier travel, you can. If you don’t have the Bifrost Key to spare, you could just as easily set your song back to Punika and then sail to Hypnos Eyes from there, since it’s such a short distance. If you don’t have access to Punika yet, Rohendel is the next best option, as Shiverwave Lake is the closest port to the island other than Punika’s Tideshelf Path.

series of quests

Curiously, the initial questline for Hypnos’s Eyes begins on Gravis, a short distance northeast of Hypnos’s Eyes, with journalist Arthetinian Burnstein. The quest is called “Scoop, Hypnos’s Eyes” and will have you navigated to Hypnos’s Eyes shortly after picking it up.

The questline is quite simple and doesn’t require anything special to complete. Along the way, you’re rewarded with a nice amount of cash, a few virtue points, and a decent piece of tier two break-in materials tied to your roster.

If you’re doing this questline on a tier three character, be sure to stick all chests with tier two enhancement materials into your list storage, instead of opening and binding them to you.

The last quest, titled “Unforgettable”, is not automatically given to you at the end of the questline, as the story ends in a bit of a mystery. The final quest can be picked up via a hidden object (Burstein Reporter’s Camera) that you need to interact with. It is located in the house of Blue-Eyed Calvasus, as shown in the image above.

soul of the island

Hypnos Eye Island Soul is directly tied to Blue-Eyed Calvasus’ Report progress: the very tall, muscular and robotic pirate captain. All you have to do is bring it to the rank of trust. But there is more to him than that….

Calvasus with blue eyes

This one-man behemoth gives you more than just an island soul. So, let’s take a look at the points required for each of its report ranks and what it rewards at each stage:

Neutral – Level 1 400 dots
Neutral – Level 2 1,100 points
Friendly – Level 1 3,400 stitches
Friendly – Level 2 5,200 points
Friendly – Level 3 6,800 stitches
Friendly – Level 1 7,000 stitches
Friendly – Level 2 7,000 stitches
Friendly – Level 3 7,000 stitches

Reporting rewards

  • Normal Rank: Eight Ancient Gold (gives you 8,000 Silver).
  • Friendly Rank: Two Sparkling Bloodclaw Coins (gives you 1,000 Pirate Coins).
  • Friendly Rank: Vitality Increase Potion and a Calvasus Card (epic quality).
  • Trust Ranking: Hypnos’ Eyes Island Soul, 9th Giant’s Heart, Masterpiece #29, and three Tragon Blueprints.

The total number of report points required to max Blue-Eyed Calvasus reliably totals at a whopping 38,200. While that’s a lot of points, it’s justified by the rewards it grants. An Island Soul, Giant’s Heart, and Masterpiece have incredible collectible value and are nearly unmatched in the entire game. That said, if you’ve ever debated which Rapport NPCs to drop Gifts from relic report, Blue-Eyed Calvasus is definitely one of the best options.

Mokoko seed one

The first seed of Mokoko is in the South West part of the island, on the boat right next to the entrance to the island. it’s sitting between a pile of fish and a staircase.

Mokoko seeds two and three

The second and third Mokoko Seeds, while technically on the map, are in a hidden area. Head to the tavern (where you would normally start Una’s task in order to gain access to the arena) and head to the back. There is a hidden ladder just behind the bar and next to Battery Commander Aldo (left image) where you can go to access the basement.

The two Mokoko Seeds are waiting for you there (right image). One is clearly visible on the left of the room, but the other is much darker. It’s in the at the bottom right corner, under wooden planks.

Mokoko four seed

The fourth Mokoko seed is in the northeast part of the island, hiding behind the slow engineerwho stands very close to Zipline which takes you back to the central arena.

Mokoko Five Seed

The fifth seed of Mokoko hides in the hull of the ship on the easternmost part of the island. Head towards the hull and aft of the floor to where two guns are seated. The Mokoko Seed is sneakily placed just below the muzzle, closer to the entrance. You can see its leaves sticking out from certain angles.

Una’s Task

Una’s task on this island (titled “The Defense”), while simple, is a daily one that takes a decent amount of time to complete each day. You will, however, only have to complete it ten times in total, as shown below. It sees you enter the central arena of the island, gladiator style, defending your title through four rounds of enemies, with the final round being a boss.

  • Level one – 20/20 (two daily), rewards 17,000 pirate coins.
  • level two – 30/30 (three dailies), rewards 19,000 Pirate Coins and a stat boost potion.
  • level three – 50/50 (five daily) rewards 36,000 Pirate Coins, a Potion of Courage, and Predator of the Sea: Tragon.

The final item in the tier three rewards is a quest item that begins your journey to acquiring your very own Tragon, one of Lost Ark’s mighty ships. But, even if you don’t care about that particular ship, the amount of Pirate Coins you get from maxing reputation for this Una task is a pretty nice amount. It can help you in the long run with things that require a lot of pirate parts, like building your Astray ship.

Keep in mind that Hypnos’s Eyes is a level two islandso if you do this Una task on a level three character (you will still get honor jumps instead of life jumps as a reward for completing the daily) you should have no trouble completing it because you’ll shoot most of the enemies attacking you in the arena in one shot.
