COVID remains a global healthcare pandemic. It is a global problem and continues to wreak havoc around the world. Those who do not get the vaccine further complicate the ability to move forward.

Wrongly, however yesterday on “CBS This Morning” Dr. Antoine Fauci discussed herd immunity and said we had over 90% immunity to measles, but New York City had “Hasidic Jews” who were the cause of the outbreak, choosing not to vaccinate .

Notably, he did not mention the New York Times Headline who says only 28 percent of black youth in New York City are vaccinated or various studies which show that the greatest reluctance to vaccinate is among African Americans (a much larger population than “Hasidic Jews”.)

In a time of rising anti-Semitism in America, one wonders why the need for a senior government official to point the finger at a specific subculture of a religious group? The reality is that countless great rabbis have discussed the need for religious Jews to be vaccinated, iincluding the proclamation of religious rules.

In May, like Forbes reported Considerable effort has gone into educating Hasidic Jews about the importance of the vaccine. Chabad.org, the official website of the largest Jewish organization in the world writes very clearly, “Protecting your own health doesn’t just make sense, it’s actually a mitzvah. This means that even if you don’t want to do it, for some reason you are still obligated to do it ”, and“ Assuming that vaccinating when there is a high risk of catching a disease is similar to running away from a disease. epidemic, then it is mandatory for you to do this, and others may be required to do so as well.

It is wrong on national television to condemn “Hasidic Jews” and if Dr. Fauci did so with any other race or religion, there would be a major outcry. If he distinguished African Americans, there would be outrage – Fauci would have to apologize.
