An overhaul of responses to SARS2 is necessary
Where’s the science to shut down entire economies?
Leni Riefenstahl was a German filmmaker who in the 1930s was fascinated by Adolf Hitler and by implication his harmful prescriptions for society. She served as a propagandist for the Nazi Party and, in 1935, produced the “Triumph of the Will,” documenting the Nazi Party convention in Nuremberg the previous year. This took place after Hitler was put in charge of the German government in 1933 by a cabal of influential in high places, who were nervous about a takeover by the Communist Party. They considered the “Austrian corporal” easy to control and did not take his diatribes about war, bloodshed and conquest seriously. In less than a year, Hitler and his henchmen had taken full control of the government and either intimidated into submission or sent those who opposed him to concentration camps. Interestingly, the German Communist Party followed Stalin’s line that the Social Democrats and the Nazis were “not antipodes but twins”. The Social Democrats, who, along with the Communists, could have taken control of Germany and kept the Nazi Party at bay if they had worked together. Instead, much of the Communist aggression was directed against the Social Democrats, who had shown great courage in resisting Hitler and his psychotic program. By 1935 both the Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party had been dismantled by Nazi thugs, many of whom had since 1933 become part of the state apparatus. The infatuated Riefenstahl chose not to look at the underside of the rock she imagined to be Hitler, and called her rise to power the triumph of the will. It was, along with generous spoonfuls of luck and the reality that the greater the misfortunes suffered by the German people, the greater the attraction of Hitler and his simplistic slogans. Fortunately for the rest of the world, in Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill, the United Kingdom and the United States had two leaders who very early on understood the threat that the Nazis posed to human civilization. The Nazis treated the Dutch the same way the Dutch had treated the Indonesians, the French the way they themselves had treated the Vietnamese and the British with the same superior condescension that Whitehall treated the Indian people. The massacres and genocidal impulses of European colonizers in Asia, Africa and South America recurred in twentieth-century Europe during the early stages of the 1939-45 war. This was before 1943, the year when the combination of American weaponry and Russian bravery had begun to prevail over the German armies which had already swarmed across Europe with apparent ease. In their wake were the SS and the Gestapo, killing machines used by Hitler and his associates, most harshly against the Jewish inhabitants of Europe and the Roma, who still face persecution and discrimination across Europe despite the decades that have passed. since the murderous hold of Hitler and a people, nearly a third of whom were in some way enslaved to an individual who, from the start of his career in public life, had made no secret of his intention to transform Europe in slaughterhouse. There was no doubt that Hitler had the will to seize power and carry out his toxic plans. What seems equally clear is that many of the current heads of government (they can by no means be called “leaders”) have lost any will they might have had to ensure that the people they are supposed to serve are subject to policies that generate progress rather than regressions. It seems hard to deny that the SARS2 lab has been established, although notables in the United States and Europe who have helped develop “gain-of-function” techniques in Wuhan and other places in the PRC continue. to do so, eager to escape responsibility for their role. in the disaster that the combination of SARS2 and WHO-approved government responses to the novel coronavirus has caused in so many countries.
The science is based on facts, and statistical analysis indicates that the Omicron mutation that is now spreading across borders is much milder than its predecessor Delta. That those who catch the virus have no symptoms or very mild symptoms. This was most emphatically pointed out by South African experts, who first isolated the strain to be punished rather than appreciated. Hospitalizations of those affected by the Omicron mutation are much lower than was the case with Delta. And yet there is a barrage of frightening news about Omicron and warnings of possible doom from the current leaders of both countries who showed wisdom and moral courage to confront Hitler in the previous century. One of the reasons Joe Biden is quickly becoming the primary cause of the Democratic Party’s current decline in fortunes is his decision to retain Dr Anthony Fauci as its chief medical adviser, despite the latter’s role in supporting those in the United States who have funded and in other ways helped the Wuhan virological facility develop SARS2 from a naturally occurring, human-harmless form of the novel coronavirus. Outsourcing nuclear waste or harmful factories to other countries has long been a practice in some countries, although questions should be asked about the morality and ethics of research assistance aimed at making a virus more transmissible and deadly to humans than it was before while still in its natural state. President Biden may not be upset that several of his medical assistants are complicit in the development of SARS2, but perhaps not in its spread, but a good chunk of American voters must look askance at such tolerance. . Much has been said about ‘following the science’ regarding the unprecedented WHO-recommended response to SARS2, but where’s the science to shutting down entire economies, with several units shutting down permanently due to the shutdowns recommended by the WHO? WHO entire countries? Vaccines have proven to be less than a preventative against infections, while even in 2021 countries like Germany that have imposed severe lockdowns since the advent of the Omicron mutation have done much worse than countries like the United States. India, which refused to be crushed by the closure. economy and confine citizens to some form of house arrest in 2021 in the manner that had taken place the year before. The vaccine obsession was driven by those (including some leaders in the Biden administration) who had unsuccessfully attempted to develop an AIDS vaccine but ultimately had to revert to therapy. Had the same attention been paid to therapeutics as to vaccines almost entirely developed from government-funded R&D, SARS2 would now have been simply an irritant rather than the killer of so many people and many more jobs. Science demands a re-examination of the strategies suggested in 2020 to tackle the pandemic in the context of the immense collateral damage they have caused. For a disease that is mild (certainly with Omicron) in almost all cases, is it better to accept the risk of infection as one does with the common cold or the flu, but keep working, or fill in huge gaps in the manpower required by forcing each person who tested positive to stay home for two weeks? Such measures have clearly failed to stop the spread of the virus, despite their economic and societal cost. At least in the western world, fear seems to be the dominant emotion when it comes to SARS2. Those in the PLA who view the Atlantic Alliance as a military rival will be delighted with the effect SARS2 has had on substantial sections of society on both sides of the North Atlantic.
